Mike grew up in the St. Louis area and attended Central Methodist University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. in political science. After graduating from college, he was recruited by the U.S . Army and served 13 months in Vietnam. Mike then returned home, attended law school and earned his doctorate in law from the University of Missouri at Columbia.

His previous military experience gave him the opportunity to return to the US Army and serve in the J.A.G. to serve Corps as a criminal defense attorney and judge-martial while stationed in Savannah, Georgia.

In 1976, Mike established his own law practice in Chillicothe, Missouri and remained there for 27 years. During this time he gained experience in the areas of family law, criminal defense, bankruptcy, probate, real estate, agricultural and agricultural affairs, and served as a city attorney.

In 2003, Mike and Marilyn returned to St. Louis to look after their elderly parents. He opened his office in O’Fallon and currently practices in the areas of family law, estate planning, real estate, and small business law and provides lump sum settlements to clients.

Mike has spoken for the practical skills courses of the Bar Association Missouri; the Individual and Small Business Conference; National Institute of Enterprise; University of Missouri Columbia Law School for Practice Management. He is a board-certified family law mediator and a member of the Missouri Bar Association and the St. Charles County Bar Association. Watkins Law
