Fred Alan Wolf

Dr. Fred Alan Wolf is a physicist, writer, and lecturer who earned his PhD in theoretical physics at UCLA in 1963. He was featured in the groundbreaking film, What the Bleep Do We Know? and has written many popular books on physics, including the National Book Award winning Taking the Quantum Leap. Dr. Wolf has appeared on numerous radio and television programs, including The Discovery Channel’s The Know Zone.

“Time-travel is a way for us to know where we are going,” Fred Alan Wolf says. Listeners won’t get the powers that TV time-traveler Doctor Who enjoys, but Wolf–known as Dr. Quantum–wants to change the way people perceive time, the past, and the future.

Wolf is entertaining, if strange, as he combines quantum physics, science fiction, and yoga into his program of “untraining” people in the way they think about time. He shows how we all challenge time by multitasking, finding peaceful moments, and getting lost in activities, and offers exercises for “cheating time.” Listeners who don’t mind some math and science (not to mention an odd sense of humor) with their yoga will benefit from these mental exercises.
