How, and Why, This Has to Work for You

Some people download our Deep Zen meditation audios to their Ipod, put on their headphones and then try to check email, while posting on Facebook, while hollering at the kids – while their husband is vacuuming.

What’s that? I must be making this up because husbands don’t vacuum?

Well, people try to do all kinds of crazy things while listening to our meditation program and then they say “It didn’t work?”

Others report they got a headache . . . which is kind of what happens when you try to send the brain in multiple directions at once. While you’re forcing the brain to rev up, it’s trying to quiet down – the result is stress!

So first off, if you’re new to meditation it’s not some nebulous thing unattainable by mortals. It doesn’t require any spiritual belief system or religious ritual. It can include that, but . . .

Meditation is simply a process of slowing mental activity, perhaps, and quieting the mind. It’s like a cool evening breeze after a hot summer day – it’s a breathe of fresh air. It’s deeply relaxing, revitalizing and re-energizing. It is important to everything and everyone in your life that you occasionally allow yourself to just be, don’t you agree?

You start there – with the idea of taking a mental break and turning off the rest of the world to focus on your beingness. Problems, past and present, you allow to slide in order to focus on right now. Because right now, everything is perfect and happiness requires that perspective.

When you put on your head phones and listen to Deep Zen your brainwave activity will be gently guided into a toned down state. Breathing will slow and your heart rate will follow. Your entire body will relax.

Sounds Great, Sounds True . . . But How?

Scientific research has identified specific brainwave frequencies associated with different states of being. When you’re all revved up, so are your brainwave frequencies – they’re in beta.
