An introductory presentation reviewing how our daily mental activity may turn on the activity-dependent gene expression and protein synthesis cycle to construct and reconstruct the neural networks of our mind-brain and facilitate healing of the body. We will explore innovative approaches to facilitating the four-stage creative process in therapeutic hypnosis and psychotherapy in a group process and individual demonstrations.

Educational Objectives:

1. To list three activity-dependent approaches to facilitating gene expression and brain plasticity via therapeutic hypnosis and psychotherapy.
2. To describe the practical application of psychosocial genomics concepts in therapeutic hypnosis and psychotherapy.

Ernest L. Rossi, PhD, is an internationally renowned therapist, teacher and pioneer in the psychobiology of mind-body healing. The author of more than 24 professional books, Dr. Rossi worked with Milton Erickson for eight years and co-authored three classic volumes on therapeutic hypnosis with him. Rossi has also edited four volumes of Erickson’s Collected Papers and four volumes of Erickson’s Seminars, Workshops and Lectures. He has been conducting research in the psychosocial genomics of ultradian rhythms and their relation to mind-body healing and psychotherapy for over three decades.
